Anna Klitzing Preus is one of the most well-rounded athletes in Orange Lutheran history. She ran track and cross country, and played basketball and volleyball. In 1997, she was an All-CIF performer in the 1600m, and in 1998, she earned the honor in both the 800m and 1600m. She was named Olympic League MCP in track in 1988, and she was an All-League performer from 1997-2000. She was All-Olympic League in cross country in 1999.Â
She has great memories of basketball and volleyball practices in the old gym, track meets on the 300m dirt track, and cross country home meets at Irvine Park.Â
Anna attended Concordia University, Irvine, majoring in liberal studies with a focus on elementary education. She ran cross country and track and field for the Eagles for three years, earning GSAC Scholar Athlete and NAIA Academic All-American honors in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, she graduated and married her husband, Jack. Anna taught third grade and coached at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Orange from 2004-2009. She earned her M.A. in Education from Concordia, Irvine in 2007.Â
Her parents and siblings are all involved in LCMS ministry. Anna has many wonderful memories from Orange Lutheran. Friends she made in high school are still some of her closest today. She is grateful for caring teachers and coaches, and the foundation of faith in Jesus that Orange Lutheran laid for her.Â
