Junior girls golfer
Jude Lee made school history on Wednesday, becoming the first individual to win a CIF Playoff golf round as she was crowned the CIF-SS Southern Regional Champion after posting a winning score of -8 (66) at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino.
Lee made three birdies on the front nine, including an opening one on the par-5 first hole. On the back nine, she caught fire, making four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 13th. She won the tournament by one stroke. The regional consisted of 113 golfers, with the top 24 advancing to the CIF-SS Individual final at Temecula Creek on Thursday, November 7.
Joining Jude on November 7 will be three other Lancers. Junior
Charlene Woo finished in a tie for 3rd with a -4 (70). Her round consisted of 4 birdies and an eagle on the 13th hole with a chip in from off the green. Junior
Ally Kim, who recently won the
Trinity League individual title, finished tied for 11th with an even-par 70.
Freshman
Myla Robinson, who made the CIF Individual round by winning a playoff at the Trinity League Finals, also carded an even-par 70 and tied for 11th. Sophomore
Gabrielle Kim missed the cut by 1 stroke, shooting a great round of +4 (78). She finished in a tie for 25th. The four CIF Individual finalists are a school record.
Prior to the individual final, the team will compete in the CIF Division 1 team final on Monday, November 4, at Los Serranos. The tee time is at 8 am.
