Junior golfer
Ally Kim became the 2nd girls golfer in school history to capture a
Trinity League individual tournament title after an amazing final round of -7 to win by one stroke at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino.
The Trinity League individual tournament comprises 32 golfers, eight from each member school, and is played over 2 days and 36 holes, with the top 12 advancing to the CIF Prelims on October 30. After day 1, Kim was four shots off the lead, shooting an opening round 71 (-3). She opened the second round with four straight birdies, carding a (33) -4 through the first nine. On the back 9, she made a birdie on 14, 16, and
17, giving her the outright lead she would hold onto and win.
Kim now qualifies for the CIF Prelims on Wednesday, October 30, right back at Los Serranos. She will be joined by four of her fellow teammates who also advanced individually. Junior
Jude Lee finished 6th overall with a two-day score of -5. Junior
Charlene Woo shot a two-day total of -3 and finished 7th. Sophomore Gabby Kim shot even par over the two days to finish 10.
The final spot went to freshman
Myla Robinson, who had to win a
three-way playoff for one spot to secure her individual place in CIF. She finished 12th.
