When the Olympic Games open on Friday in Paris, France, Orange Lutheran alumnus Hannes Daube '18 will represent Team USA. Daube is entering his second Olympic Games as a member of the USA Men's Water Polo team.

His first appearance in the Olympic Games came during the 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) in Tokyo, Japan. He notched eight goals and helped Team USA to a sixth-place finish.  

Since the 2020 Olympics, he has represented Team USA at six international competitions. He currently competes professionally at VK Jug in Croatia. 

At Orange Lutheran, Daube helped the Lancers capture their first ever CIF-SS title in school history in 2016.  He was a first-team All American and first-team All Trinity League selection during that historic run. 

Daube and Team USA will open the group stage of the Men's Water Polo competition on July 28 against Italy, with game time at 6 a.m. PT.
