Coach Jeff Buries is from Upland, CA. He attended Upland High School and was a 4-year starter on the Varsity team. After high school, he played junior college baseball in Rancho Cucamonga at Chaffey College, where he was a two-time junior college all-American. He also led the country in triples and stolen bases in both seasons. Coach Buries was awarded a full-ride scholarship to a NAIA school, Eastern Oregon State, where he played one year before transferring to Cal Baptist in Riverside, California, for his senior year. This was a magical season for the Lancers as they went to the NAIA World Series, where they lost in the semi-final game and finished #3 in the country.
Coach Buries began his coaching career soon after ending his playing career. He has coached at various High Schools for over 10 years. Coach Buries also ran an elite travel ball organization for over 8 years before joining Orange Lutherans Coaching staff in 2017. His son was a 4-year starter at OLU between 2017 and 2020 before receiving a scholarship to GCU. Coach Buries stepped away from coaching in 2021 to watch and enjoy his son's college career and returned this season to join OLU again.
