It wasn't easy, but the #1 ranked Orange Lutheran Lancers softball team booked a CIF semifinal spot following a 7-4 win over Canyon on Thursday.
 

Down 3-1 in the 3rd, the Lancers struck for 3 in the bottom of the 3rd to regain the lead. Zara Mineo extended the lead with a single in the 5th to make it 5-3. She had 3 RBIs. Mya Diaz, who homered in the playoff opener, had a 2-run double in the 6th to stretch the cushion to 4. 
 

That was enough for senior Brianne Weiss, who recovered from giving a 3-run homer in the 3rd to shut down the Commanches the rest of the way. 
 

The semifinal spot is the program's first since 2016-2017. They will travel to take on MurrieMesa on Saturday, May 11, with a trip to the finals on the line.
