Lancers Capture 5th Straight League Title

OLu softball has won five straight Trinity League titles! The Lancers beat Rosary 2-1 on Friday to secure the regular-season title, the program's 18th league championship.

Alejandra Rodriguez got the Lancers on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. Kai Minor added to the lead in the third with a triple and a steal of home. That is all senior pitcher Brianne Weiss would need as she shut down the Royals, striking out 9 and allowing 0 ER.

At 17-3 overall and 7-0 in league play, the Lancers are currently ranked #1 in the CIF-SS Divison 1 poll and in Orange County. They are also ranked # 2 in California and #6 in the nation. The girls will look to finish an undefeated league season for the second straight year at Mater Dei on Monday.

The CIF playoff bracket will be revealed on Saturday, April 27 at 10 am.
