The Lancers run towards a 3rd straight CIF title ended Saturday night as the Lancers lost to Brentwood 76-65 in the semifinals.
Brentwood jumped out to a 9-point first-quarter lead, but the Lancers came back with a vengeance in the 2nd, taking a 3-point lead after going on a 16 to 4 run. At half, though, OLu trailed by 6, and Brentwood broke it open in the 3rd, going up by 19.
The Lancers never quit, though, as they closed a 21-point gap to just 5 in the final minutes, but that was as close as they would come on this night. Princess Cassell led the Lancers with 23. Shea Joko had 21, including 15 during their 4th quarter run. As a team, OLu hit 15 3-pointers.
The Lancers will now get rested up for the CIF State playoffs that begin on Tuesday, February 27, with the draw occurring on February 25.
