For a second straight season, the OLu girls water polo team is off to the CIF Open Division Championship.

The Lancers beat Newport Harbor 7-6 on Wednesday evening. After an even first period, OLu took a 2 goal lead into the break. The Lancers went 3 for 4 on the power play in the first half. They extended the advantage to 3 in the 3rd and held onto that for the win. Jailynn Robinson had two goals in the win. 

It was OLu's 2nd triumph over the Sailors on the season, and this one came at a big time. The Lancers are now a perfect 27-0 and will look to defend their CIF title on Saturday, February 17, against the winner of Foothill/Mater Dei at Mt. Sac. They are looking for the program's 3rd CIF title.
