The Orange Lutheran hockey team opened their 6th ever appearance at the USA Hockey National Championships in Plymouth, Minnesota, with a bang defeating Culver Academy (Indiana) 3-0 on Thursday afternoon.

 
JJ Dean opened the scoring at the 6:59 mark of the 1st period, and then Ethan Kuehn struck 14 seconds later to extend the lead to 2-0.

 
Kyle Lee added an insurance goal 2 minutes into the 2nd period to make it 3-0, and that is all the Lancers would need. Micah Kawai posted a shutout saving all 13 shots he faced. 

 
OLu continues its quest for a title tomorrow when they play New Trier Green (Illinois) at 6:30 am PT.
