The Orange Lutheran football team's season ended on Friday night when they fell to St. John Bosco in the CIF Quarterfinals 49-14.
Down 7-0 in the first, senior Deuce Frierson picked off a Bosco pass and took it back 90 yards to the Braves 7. Three plays later, Rex Barrera punched it home to tie the game at 7.
The Braves began to pull away in the second, scoring 28 unanswered points to take a 28-point to the break.
To open the 3rd quarter, the Lancers went with some trickeration, pulling out an onside kick that kicker Ryan Yonkers recovered. A double pass was perfectly executed on the next play when Alex Medyn hit Tyler Hennesey in stride for a 43-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 21.
That would be as close as OLu got as Bosco tacked on two more scores.
The Lancers season ends with a 7-5 record.
