On Thursday, October 29 head Cross Country Coach, Kristen Goossens, was nominated for the National Federation High Schools California State Coach of the Year award for the 2019-20 school year.
Goossens said, "The nomination is a representation of God’s blessings, Orange Lutheran as a school, our athletic administration, our amazing parental trust and support, our knowledgeable coaching staff, our relentlessly hard-working student-athletes, and my family’s sacrifices that allow my love and passion for running to be possible."
This past fall in her first year as head coach Goossens led the girls cross country team to their first CIF-SS title in 10 years. Goossens nomination came from the CIF Southern Section office where she was one of only 4 coaches in Orange County nominated. The CIF-SS office nominated a total of 13 in the section including Goossens.
