Orange Lutheran Baseball Coach, Eric Borba, has been selected to coach Team California in the inaugural High School Baseball National Championship in Houston, Texas. The tournament, which runs June 24-27, consists of high school players from eight states.
"It's an honor to be asked to coach the first-ever Team California to play in the High School Baseball National Championship," Borba said. "I am looking forward to coaching some of the best ballplayers in the state and competing against the nation's best from seven other states."
Players were chosen by Borba in collaboration with scouts, agents, college coaches, and high school coaches. Borba will coach fellow Lancer Tank Espalin ’20, who will be a member of this inaugural team.
All games from June 24 through 26 will be broadcast on ESPN+. The championship game will be broadcasted nationally on ESPNU on Thursday, June 27. For more information on the tournament, visit hsbnc.org.
