Orange Lutheran Athletics is excited to announce that the current interim boys basketball coach, Daniel Dunbar '09, will remain in his role in a full-time capacity effective immediately.
"Orange Lutheran feels most confident in Coach Dunbar and his abilities to continue leading the program with integrity and in a way that upholds the school’s mission, vision, and cultural standards," administrators stated in an email to families on Wednesday afternoon.
Dunbar led the Lancers to the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs this past year. A 2015 graduate of Sonoma State University, he coached at Orange Lutheran for 11 seasons in a variety of roles before being promoted to interim head coach this past fall. In the classroom, he is a World History teacher at OLu.
"I’m really excited about the opportunity to coach the guys I had last year,” Dunbar said. “We want to keep building on the culture that we have been establishing and to see this group grow and compete at a high level.”
