Despite falling behind 4-0 early, the Lancers baseball team rallied to beat Bonita 10-5 in the 2nd round of the CIF Division 1 playoffs.
Bonita jumped on pitcher Louis Rodriguez for 4 in the first. But the Lancers slowly and methodically chipped away, scoring 2 in the first and 1 in the second.
The fourth was when they took the lead for good when they scored four runs and led 7-5. An error, a fielder's choice by Karson Bowen (2-3 with 2 RBI and a homer), and a single by Mikey Romero gave the Lancers the four runs.
While the offense came to life, Evan Miranda was stellar in relief of Rodriguez. He went four innings, allowing one hit while striking out four and earning the win.
The Lancers are off the quarterfinals, where they will play Notre Dame Sherman Oaks on Friday afternoon on the road.
