After conducting a thorough search process and reviewing the state of the boys basketball program, Orange Lutheran is pleased to announce that current coach, Mr. Daniel Dunbar, will remain in his role as Interim Head Coach through the end of this season.
“We have the utmost confidence in the leadership of Coach Dunbar and the rest of the coaching staff to faithfully serve the needs of the boys and the goals of the program,” senior leadership stated in a letter to basketball families.
Dunbar, a 2009 graduate of Orange Lutheran, played for the Lancers from 2005 to 2009. He has been a member of the Lancers coaching staff for the past nine years, serving the last two as a varsity assistant. Dunbar also teaches World History at the school.
"Coaching the program that I have spent over 13 years playing and working for is a goal that I set for myself when I first got into coaching at the age of 18," Dunbar says. "I am looking forward to building a program that has a positive culture and helps players reach their full potential."
The 2019-2020 boys basketball season starts in November.
