Over the course of each season, one athlete from each sport is selected as a profile athlete. This week’s profile is a feature on girls golf senior Hannah Batcheller.

Football
In a back and forth affair the Lancers fell in their regular-season finale 35-28 to Santa Margarita on Friday night. Senior quarterback Logan Gonzalez had a big day going 17-25 with 308 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, including an 81-yard touchdown to Kaleb Marshall. He also had a rushing touchdown. Defensively Manaia Ala picked off 2 passes while Bryce Brown Johnson also had a pick. OLu finished out the regular season slate with a 6-4 overall record and 1-4 in the Trinity League.
The Lancers earned the #3 seed in the Division 2 CIF playoffs that start on Friday night. Their opponent is 10-0 Simi Valley. The game has been selected by Bally Sports West as the game of the week. The kickoff is set for 7:30 pm at Orange Coast College and tickets are available HERE.

Girls Volleyball
The Lancers lost in the CIF quarterfinals on Wednesday to Etiwanda 3-0. The loss concludes the season for the girls volleyball team. They finished with an overall record of 24-10 and finished in 3rd place in the Trinity League.
Girls Golf
On Wednesday, Alexia Egdahl and Mason Egdahl competed in the CIF Individuals tournament at Western Hills Country Club. Mason finished with a 90 and Alexia finished with a 91 on the par 72 course. Neither advanced out of the tough field competing as only 36 out of 138 golfers moved on.
On Tuesday, the Lancers will play in the Division 2 CIF Team Championships at Jurupa Hills CC. Tee time is set for 12:30 pm.
Boys Water Polo
OLu finished the regular season out with a 13-6 win over Santa Margarita on Wednesday afternoon. The win moved them to a season concluding 19-9 regular season. The record was good enough to earn the boys a spot in the CIF Open Division playoffs. OLu will play #1 seed Huntington Beach on Thursday at 5 pm at Westminster High School.
Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team competed in Trinity League finals this past week. The individual competition spanned both Tuesday and Wednesday at Santa Margarita High School. OLu had 2 singles players earn 2nd team All-League spots: Natalie Rodriguez and Lauren Lee. The doubles pair of Kara Barry and Ashley Lee also gained a 2nd team All-League spot for their performance.
On Monday morning the draw for the Division 2 CIF playoffs was released and the Lancers made the playoffs as an at-large team. They will travel to Beverly Hills HS on Wednesday for their round 1 match on kicking off at 2 pm.
Cross County
The cross country teams have been off the past 2 weeks but this coming Friday is Trinity League Finals. The girls team will race at 10 am while the boys start at 10:30. All races are at Huntington Beach Central Park.
Hockey
The Lancer hockey team played 2 games in 48 hours on Thursday and Saturday and come out victorious in both to move to a perfect 6-0 on the young season. On Thursday OLu beat Fairmont Prep 5-2. OLu trailed 2-0 before rattling off 5 unanswered goals. Natahan Croteau had 2 goals and an assist in the win. Saturday the Lancers played St. John Bosco and won comfortably 6-1. Croteau and Carson Ferry each had 2 goals in the win. Goalie Caleb Martinez was the winner in both games. OLu plays on Friday and Saturday this week against Bellarmine Prep and Damien.
Surf
The surf team is now 2-2 after a loss to Los Alamitos in a great meet this past week. The Lancers fell 89-75. They own wins over Mater Dei and Millikan.
