Baseball

The Lancer baseball team was off the week of March 2.  OLu will open Trinity League play on March 10 against Mater Dei.

Boys Golf

The boys golf team opened up the 2020 season with 2 tournaments and a match vs Marina this past week.  On Monday, in the Glendora Tournament, Dylan Spoolstra and Tyler Shin led the way with 87’s. At Meadowlark golf course on Wednesday, the Lancers lost in a card off to Marina after the match was tied at 208 after the 5 best scores were tallied.  Shin finished with a +2 (37) and Spoolstra with a +3 (38). Finally, on Thursday at El Prado Golf Course, Spoolstra again led OLu with an 85. Shin shot an 86 along with Ian Shahwan. Cole Carlson shot an 87.

Boys Lacrosse

The Lancers opened up a 2 game week losing their Trinity League Opener to Mater Dei.  On Friday, they fell to San Juan Hills. The Lancers are 3-2 on the year.

Boys Tennis

The Lancers fell in both matches this past week to Diamond Bar and Troy, each 11-7. OLu is 2-4 overall on the season.

Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team was off this past week.  The Lancers have their home opener on March 11 vs Esperanza.

Girls Lacrosse

The girls lacrosse team fell in their lone match of the week to Mater Dei.  The Lancers are 1-4 on the year.

Softball

The Lancers traveled out to Laughlin, Nevada for the annual Dave Kops Tournament of Champions. 

 

In the opener, the Lancers fell to Villa Park 3-2. Game 2 was against Casteel on Friday morning.  The Lancers won a tight one 5-4. Victoria Fragoso went 3-3 with a double. Tiana Poole was 2-2 with an RBI double.  Tessa Jerue went 1-2 with a 3 run homer. Next up was Redlands on Friday afternoon. OLu won 6-2 behind Taylor Roden’s first career varsity win.  Tiana Poole stayed hitting a 2 run homer. Venzia Robles and Victoria Fragoso both went 2-3 with 2 RBI’is each. The Lancers fell to O’Connor High School on Saturday morning 6-5.  In the final game of the tournament, OLu knocked off Whittier Christian 12-2. Vinnie Robles earned the win. Tiana Poole and Sofia Usquiano each had a home run in the victory.

 

The Lancers finished 3-2 on the weekend and took 3rd place in the consolation bracket.

Swim & Dive 

The Lancers boys and girls swim teams competed in the Capo Valley Relay at Capistrano Valley High School on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  The notable results from the meet are below:

• Varsity Girls 400 Free Relay - 8th - 3:45:03
• Boys Varsity 300 Free Relay - 10th - 2:18:91

OLu competed in the South County Classic at Trabuco Hills High School on Friday night.  The girls team finished 5th with 68 total team points. The boys finished 8th.
