Girls basketball dropped back-to-back Trinity League contests over the past week.
On Tuesday, the Lancers started on the road verse Santa Margarita and lost 55-45. Kelly Garrity and Shea Joko led OLu with 11 points each.
Back in action at home on Thursday against a tough Rosary squad OLu played hard but ultimately lost 64-53. Garrity had a team-high 14 points, while Ashari Cassell chipped in 11, Sheridan Kennedy had nine, and Madi Bogan had 8.
The Lancers are 16-5 and continue to be ranked #1 in the Division 2AA CIF poll. They have six games remaining on the season.
This past week OLu took on JSerra and Santa Margarita on the road.
The Lancers rallied from down five to open the 4th against JSerra to force overtime. OLu outscored JSerra 15-9 in the extra frame en route to a 73-67 win. Seth Brown hit a 3 with over a minute remaining to give OLu the lead for good. David Manea led the Lancers with 18 points, Brown had 16, and Blake Brewer had 11. Nik Flores had four steals and four rebounds from the point guard spot.
OLu was back at it on Wednesday when they traveled to Santa Margarita for a road tilt. The Lancers fell in a hard-fought affair 69-60. Blake Brewer led the way with 17 points while Cannon Potter had 13.
The Lancers are now 12-7 overall and 2-3 in league play. They continue the league schedule tonight against Servite at 7 pm.
On Tuesday, girls soccer notched a massive result with a 2-0 victory over Santa Margarita on the road. Morgan Goerhing scored both Lancers goals, one in the first half and another in the second half. Goalkeeper Amaya Assal had a penalty kick save.
The win secures a winning record for the Lancers as they moved to 7-2-5 overall and 1-1-2 in league play. They are ranked #9 in the CIF Division 2 poll.
The boys soccer team went 0-1-1 this past week. The Lancers opened the week with a 1-0 defeat against JSerra. On the road on Wednesday, the Lacners notched a result with a 2-2 tie against Santa Margarita. Hayden Snyder scored for OLu, and the other one was an own-goal by the Eagles.
The Lancers are now 5-9-4 overall and 1-3-1 in Trinity League play. They play Servite on Friday afternoon at home.
Girls Water Polo
The girls water polo team only played once over the past week, and it was a resounding 12-6 win over Foothill. This coming weekend, they play three games in the Santa Barbara area against Dos Pueblos, Santa Barbara, and San Marcos.
OLu is currently 9-5 overall and 1-1 in league play. They are ranked #3 in the CIF Division 1 poll.
This past week, the Lancers had three league duals, which started with a win over Mater Dei on senior night 44-18. They would fall in the next two duals against Bosco and Servite.
Dominic Lobo, Dustin Serizawa, and Lance Dunwoody are currently ranked in the state at their respective weight classes.
This weekend, the Lancers compete in the Laguna Hills Invite at Laguna Hills High School.
The OLu hockey team was off this past week as they get ready to take their 9-3 record to San Jose for two games this weekend. They face off against Tahoe Prep on Friday night and Bellarmine on Saturday before heading back to So Cal to finish out the 2021 campaign.
