Baseball
The Lancer baseball team fell in heartbreaking fashion to Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks in the CIF Quarterfinals 5-4 in extra innings last Friday.
After trailing 4-0 heading into the top of the seventh inning, the Lancers came alive. After getting a run across to cut the lead to 3, junior 3rd baseman Casey Borba approached the dish with two on and two out. He forced a full count, and on the next pitch, he hit a massive home run over the left-field fence to tie the game.
In the bottom of the 8th, Notre Dame got the bases loaded with two outs and dropped a bunt down, which scored the game-winning run.
The Lancers wrapped up the 2022 season with a 25-5 record and a Trinity League title.
