Kristen Goossens Named Head Cross Country Coach

Orange Lutheran Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Kristen Goossens as the next Head Cross Country Coach at Orange Lutheran High School. Goossens, a '05 graduate of Cal State University, Fullerton, comes to Orange Lutheran from Katella High School where she has been the cross county coach for the past 12 years. Under her leadership at Katella, the girls cross country team won nine consecutive Orange League titles.

Goossens is an accomplished runner herself. As a student at Mt. Sac in Walnut, she helped her team earn back-to-back state runner-up titles in cross country as well as a state championship title in Track and Field. Upon transferring to CSUF, she earned a scholarship as a 400-meter hurdler and 400-meter runner. "It is my hope that through running and the experiences we share together, the cross country athletes at Orange Lutheran will grow spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally into the future leaders of tomorrow," Goossens says.

"Kristen brings a Christian character-building attitude with great leadership and experience to OLu," says Paul Jones ’02, Athletic Director. "I am excited for Kristen to energize our cross country program and build deep relationships with students as they prepare for life and running." The cross country season begins in August.
